The iconic London Aquatics Centre is like swimming in no other pool in the world. After hosting the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic games, the world-class venue is now open for public use. The pool is guarded by certified lifeguards, maintained at the highest standard of cleanliness, and accessible directly from the changing rooms.

We all know that swimming is fantastic exercise. It works muscle groups all over your body and is great for helping develop both your muscle strength and your endurance too. It’s also an important life skill to keep practising and lane swimming is the ideal environment to train yourself to become an even stronger swimmer.

By purchasing a ticket for the Project Active Swim Session you will be able to enjoy an hour of lane swimming at an iconic venue. Lane swimming is when swimmers swim up one side of the lane and down the other – swimming in very long ovals rather than up and down the same line.

Ability: You will need to be able to swim 50m comfortably, this session is not instructed by a teacher. The speed of the lane will be 'Slow / Medium'. These sessions are not appropriate if you are a fast lane swimmer.

Location: London Aquatics Centre, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, E20 2AQ - Near UCL East!

Equipment: You will need to bring all equipment with you (swimsuit, goggles, towel etc).

Please note: It is compulsory for you to fill in our Project Active Participant Registration Form before you attend the class. It should only take a few minutes and allows us to better understand our demographic. You will only need to fill this out once per academic year.

If you have any questions about the class please do get in touch with us at
